“Remember the Rose Bowl we’ll win then ….”

The caption is from the Alabama fight song, and it’s a reference to back when the Rose Bowl routinely crowned the national champion. Finally, it all comes together.

(So glad Florida — like Texas — wears a witch-cursed fall color.)

And for those you wanting to singalong —

  1. I’ll take Ohio State to win the Rose Bowl and let Bama take the Coach’s Trophy home. Deal? 😉 They looked really tough today. And hopefully they can take home a Heisman too. 🙂

  2. Texas wears orange. The fact that it’s “burnt” orange only makes it all the more likely to suffer the curse of the Halloween witches.

Bama wins by 2 touchdowns (at least).

  3. Question is: could the Texas vs. Bama winner beat the Frogs Broncos winner? Odd to have 5 undefeated at season’s end.

  4. I think the rule ought to be that you can’t win a national championship unless you schedule quality opponents. Strength of schedule has to be a factor. (LSU would beat any of TCU, Cincinnati, and Boise State in the regular season.)

  5. I don’t think there’s any full way to settle this unless the top 8 teams (or 12 teams wit the top 4 getting a bye) are in a standard single-elimination playoff for 3 or 4 weeks.

P.S.: Florida and Cincinnati is going to be close, but I give the edge to Florida, especially if Brian Kelly leaves for Notre Dame.

  6. Despite the whipping they took on Saturday, Florida is a solid, well-coached team. Either the second or third best in the country. They win unless they decide they don’t care — as Alabama did against Utah last year.
